OUR WORK

Based in Mareeba, Queensland, Australia, Our central strategy could be described biblically as “Equipping the Saints.” (Eph 4:12) Through God’s Word, ministry training, mentoring, networking and resourcing, Aboriginal Christians are empowered to fulfill their God given visions. Emphasis is given to building the relationships and communicating effectively to meet the needs of geographically and culturally isolated peoples.

Resource Strategies

Networking

We endeavour to build trusting relationships among indigenous ministries, mutually share “vision” and partner with them in it. The outcomes or at least “scale” of much of our objectives are directly related to our effectiveness in this Eph. 4:16 “.. the body grows by that which every joint supplieth.” Luke. 5:7 “…their partners…came and filled both boats.”

To serve in a Bridge Building Ministry

Where as networking involves linking people already with much in common, Bridge Building is about linking those who have more obviously significant differences for effective prayer, ministry, mutual understanding, and financial partnership thus fulfilling the prophetic purpose of God for the nations. (Acts 17:26-28) John 17:21-25 “..that they (Christians) might be one… that the world would believe.” NKJV Eph 2 :14 “For He Himself .. .has destroyed the barrier, and the dividing wall of hostility” NIV

central Strategies

Equipping the saints

Central to the Work of IML is “Equipping the Saints for the Work of the Ministry” Eph 4:11 eg. Discipling, Follow-up, Ministry – Training / Mentoring, and Resources. We focus on addressing the particular needs of remote areas, cross cultural challenges and coordinating ministry teams. Matt. 28:18-20: “go into all the world and make disciples…”

church planting

Facilitate Church Planting for truly lasting fruit among unreached groups, and in partnership with kindred spirits, provide ongoing supportive relationship for these indigenous pioneer endeavours. “Do not forsake the gathering of the brethren” Heb 10:25 “ Bare fruit that will last” John 15:16

supportive Strategies

Breaking the Poverty Cycle

Breaking the Poverty Cycle is possible through biblical teaching and practical stewardship. Assistance includes skills development, education, enterprise support and strategic benevolence. James 2:16 “ .you shouldn‘t just say ‘ I hope all goes well for you‘…do something to help…” C.E.V.

Family And ChildreN

In aboriginal society Family And Children are of primary importance, and both have been the specific target of the evil one. Our response includes resourcing and training local ministry for the restoration of the whole family, and advocacy for christian education. Matthew 19:29 “Let the little children come unto me.” Isaiah 42:22 “…Restore” A.V.
